Call for Participation

The Deadline for Abstracts and Workshops has Passed.

We are now accepting contributions to the POSTER SESSION.  Please send your completed poster as a low resolution pdf to space2place@duke.edu by August 31, 2014. 

Posters will be accepted on a rolling basis.  Email melissa.huber@duke.edu for the poster template.

 

Join us in Durham, North Carolina on 13-15 October 2014 for the 5th International Conference on Remote Sensing in Archaeology.  This year's theme is The Age of Sensing.  

The conference will cover a range of thematic areas including:

  • - 3D Modeling
  • - Body sensing
  • - Immersive Sensing
  • - Aerial Photography
  • - GIS and Sensing
  • - Spatial Technologies and Landscape
  • - Virtual Landscapes
  • - Integrated Technologies
  • - Intra-site applications
  • - Inter-site applications
  • - Lidar Applications
  • - Geophysics
  • - Sensing and Urban Context
  • - Cultural Resource Management
  • - Drones and UAV
  • - Close Range Sensing
  • - Remote Sensing
  • - Virtual Reality and Cyber-Archaeology
  • - Defining High Standards
  • - Commercial Archaeological Remote Sensing

The scientific committee is currently seeking papers and workshop proposals relating to one or more of these themes.  There will be a separate call for posters at a later date.

For papers:

Please submit an abstract of 300-500 words (Times New Roman, 11pt font, standard margins) by April 30, 2014.  See the Submission page for the online form.  

We will publish the abstracts.  The 30 best papers will be published by Springer (eds. by M.Forte and S. Campana) in a printed and electronic book in thier Quantitative Methods in the Humanities and Social Sciences series.

 

For workshops:

Please submit a proposal by April 30, 2014 to (conference email).  Be sure to include the following information:

  • - general theme
  • - number of participants (expected)
  • - tecnhical requirements (equipment needed)
  • - description of workshop
